Panel 2: Desmond now has a pack of chewing gum in his right and and thinks, “or chewing gum?” and the dinging sound continues. 

Panel 3: A black woman in a purple shirt is at the end of the cashier’s lane waiting her turn. The cashier is trying to get Desmond’s attention. The card reader which has his credit card in it is making a dinging sound. Meanwhile, Desmond has grabbed another pack of candy and thinks, “Oh, a new flavor!”

Cashier: “Sir?”
