Teacher: “CEDRIC, FOR THE THANKSGIVING PLAY, YOU’LL BE THE INDIAN CHIEF.”
Cedric: “THAT’S AWESOME, MS. FRITZ!”

Panel 2: (Cedric is whispering to the girl next to him and pointing his thumb. The girl looks surprised)
Cedric: “LAST YEAR, I GOT STUCK PLAYING AN EAR OF CORN.”

Panel 3: (Cedric’s teacher is smiling, sitting at her desk. She is giving Cedric a paper. Cedric looks upset and is signing same)
Teacher: “SINCE THE INDIAN CHIEF USES SIGN LANGUAGE AND YOU CAN SIGN…”
Cedric: “WAIT A MINUTE! AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE & NATIVE AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE ARE NOT THE SAME.”

Panel 4: (The teacher looks curious and is making a ‘one’ handshape. Cedric is upset, looking away and crossing his arms)
Teacher: “WELL, YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LINE… CAN YOU JUST PRETEND?”
Cedric: “NEVER!”

Panel 5: (Cedric has his eyes closed; he is holding a paper and signing real)
Cedric: “I NEED TO BE REAL. I’LL NEED A SIGN LANGUAGE COACH AND A CULTURAL ADVISOR!”
