Here is another quick reference guide for ASL beginners who are learning numbers. In ASL, all numbers are not the same, my deaf friends. Like they say in real estates, location, location, location. This is the same for numbers, if you don’t tap the location for certain numbers then you are ungrammatical. Tap C.A.T. provides you with those locations for Cent, Age, and Time. Here is another quick study reference guide for ASL beginners who are learning ASL. In ASL, all signs have parameters: HS – Handshape, LOC. – Location, MOV. – Movement, P.O, – Palm Orientation and N.M.S. – Non-Manual Signals, a.k.a facial expressions. Notice N.M.S. has an asterisk because it doesn’t fit into the signing hand (manual) parameters. However, from every ASL teacher like me, they emphasize N.M.S. which must be included because it won’t be a completed sign language if you don’t use your facial expressions!
