In ASL, FISH-TOUCH is equivalent to the English phrase, “Been there, done that!” Been to Gallaudet? FINISH – TOUCH. Have you seen Devil’s Tower? FINISH – TOUCH. If it’s “FINISH – TOUCH” then why “FISH-TOUCH” for my silly sticker , you ask? Because our mouth morphemes for “finish” looks like the word “fish”. So over the years, it has morphed into a bit of ASL slang, FISH-TOUCH!

In ASL, FISH EXPERIENCE is equivalent to the English phrase “I have had been through that experience.” Have you ever waterski’d? FINISH EXPERIENCE. Have you gotten a tattoo? FINISH EXPERIENCE. Have you had braces? FINISH EXPERIENCE.
