Panel 1: (Cedric is telling a poem in three different gestures: for the first gesture, he is covering his ears with his hands, closing his eyes, and clenching his teeth)
Cedric: “‘THE BANGING AND SLAMMING THAT YOU HEAR, AFTER DINNER FAR AND NEAR…”
(For his second gesture, Cedric looks scared with his eyes and mouth wide open, holding up his arms to protect himself)
Cedric: “IS IT A METEOR CRASHING DOWN OR A TORNADO HITTING THE TOWN?”
(For his third gesture, Cedric is closing his eyes uncomfortably, biting his lip, and signing noise)
Cedric: “THE SOUND THAT MAKES MY EARDRUMS NEED STITCHES,”
Panel 2: (Cedric looks slightly surprised, earnestly signing washing)
Cedric: “…IS MY DEAF DAD DOING THE DINNER DISHES!’”
Panel 3: (Cedric’s female teacher is sitting at her desk, with a sarcastic expression. She is slightly frowning, looking and speaking to Cedric. He is giving a smug expression with his eyes closed, signing art and speaking back to the teacher)
Teacher: “VERY EXPRESSIVE POEM, CEDRIC. I COULD SEE YOUR PAIN.”
Cedric: “I DON’T MIND SUFFERING FOR MY ART, MS. FRITZ.”
