Panel 1: (Helen and Desmond are signing to each other in a store. Helen is holding a pink rug, looking at Desmond and signing need. Desmond is resting one hand on the handle of a shopping cart, looking confused, and signing why.)

Helen: “OH! WE NEED TO BUY A NEW BATH RUG.”

Desmond: “WHY? WHAT’S WRONG WITH OUR OLD ONE?”

Panel 2: (Helen and Desmond are dark silhouettes, signing to each other. Helen’s shadow is visibly signing last-week and toilet; Desmond’s shadow is signing yes.)

Helen: “REMEMBER LAST WEEK OUR TOILET OVERFLOWED ONTO OUR BATH RUG. I WASHED IT BUT…”

Desmond: “OH, THAT’S RIGHT!

Panel 3: (Helen is making a sick expression, frowning, sticking out her tongue, and signing disgusting and remember. Desmond actually looks sick, his mouth and cheeks are puffed up and green. He is signing finish and pointing at the rug in the shopping cart. Nearby, there is a store employee stocking boxes. He is smiling, curiously looking at Desmond and Helen.)

Helen: “IT IS STILL DISGUSTING. IT’S OLD AND SEEN MANY GROSS THINGS! REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN CEDRIC…”

Desmond: “STOP! WE JUST HAD LUNCH. DO YOU WANT ME TO BARF ON OUR NEW RUG?”

The store employee is thinking: “SIGN LANGUAGE IS SO FASCINATING. I WISH I KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT.”
